the epic new song from the killers. Track 10 on Day and Age
LYRICS
the unknown distance to the great beyond
stares back at my grieving frame
to cast my shadow by the holy sun,
my spirit moans, with a sacred pain,
and it’s quiet now.
The universe is standing still,

there’s nothing I can say
there’s nothing we can do now
there’s nothing I can say
there’s nothing we can do now

and all that stands between the soul’s release
this temporary flesh and bone
we know that it’s over now
I feel my faded mind begin to roam

every time you fall
and every time you try
every foolish dream
and every compromise
every word you spoke
and everything you said
everything you left me, rambles in my head

there’s nothing I can say
there’s nothing I can do now
there’s nothing I can say
there’s nothing I can do now

up above the world so high

and everything you loved
and every time you try
everybody’s watching
everybody cry

stay, don’t leave me
the stars can’t wait for your sign
don’t signal now

and there’s nothing I can say
there’s nothing I can do now
there’s nothing I can say
there’s nothing we can do now

goodnight, travel well
goodnight, travel well

and there’s nothing I can say
there’s nothing I can do now

travel well
travel well

i like this song, the crescendo is beautiful :) why are people comparing this with climbing up the walls?
they’re both very good, very different songs.
if you’re going to compare you might as well throw in sigur ros, brmc or whatever the hell you want. it’s stupid, bands influence others who credit them for inspiring them, GET OVER IT!!

Radiohead are the most over-rated band in the history of music. Everything after OK Computer has been shit

I don’t think it sounds like Radiohead’s ‘Climbing Up the Walls’ at all…maybe in some parts but nothing entirely noticeable. And after all, nothing really compares to OK Computer.

This song is so powerful. The Killers have really hit their stride with this album and in my opinion this is their best song on the album. Also this happens to be the most powerful song, especially considering the motivation behind it.

This song would have fit better on 808s and Heartbreak. Just the drums and vibe seem to be along the same lines as 808s & HB.

Not one of my favorites yet, but I have a feeling it will grow on me

everyone loves this one, i think it’s the worst and doesn’t fit in.

it’s like closing an abba album with a ******* song, depressing as hell!

maybe if they had put something like human after it to cheer you up again…
